Dominque Vinson walked into America’s Car-Mart looking for a reliable vehicle. She left with more than just a car. She left with an experience she couldn’t stop talking about.

After her previous car was totaled and following hip replacement surgery, Dominque needed a dependable vehicle. She explained her situation to the Car-Mart of Conway team, and they got to work.

Before long, Dominque was driving home in a 2018 Ford Escape, her first vehicle from Car-Mart. She describes the process as easy, and even when a credit freeze surfaced during the application, the team worked through it with her. “They made sure I understood every word and every piece of paper before I signed it,” explains Dominque.

But what stuck with Dominque most wasn’t just getting approved. It was the atmosphere. She says, “It felt like a family environment. There was music playing, people laughing. Those are the kind of people I want to do business with.”

Bringing Mom Along

Not long after Dominque drove home in her new SUV, her mom, Cynthia Vinson, mentioned she was having trouble finding a vehicle of her own. Without hesitation, Dominque suggested they visit Car-Mart together the next morning.

Helping her mom felt natural. After all, Cynthia had spent years doing the same for her kids. “She needed a vehicle,” Dominque says. “She has five kids and a lot of grands. She’s one of those active grandmothers. Her being without a vehicle was not good.”

She stayed with her mom throughout the process, reassuring her that the team would walk her through everything. When Cynthia was approved, the excitement was immediate. She even chose the same vehicle model as her daughter, a Ford Escape. Dominque’s is white, while Cynthia’s is red.

But for Dominque, the best part wasn’t the matching SUVs. It was seeing her mom regain independence. “She was happy. Now she doesn’t have to ask for rides anymore. She can get her grandkids whenever she wants.” They also added the optional service contract, giving them both a little extra peace of mind.

For Dominque, helping her mom felt especially meaningful. “My mom means, I can’t say the world because she’s more than the world,” she says. “She was hard on us growing up, but we all came up to be respectable adults. No matter what was going on, she was there. That’s like a superpower. She instilled that in me.”

Now she is carrying that forward with her own family. Dominque has two children, ages 20 and 18, and says the lessons her mom taught her still guide the way she shows up for them every day.

At Car-Mart of Conway, music, laughter, and personal attention from Seth, Dallas, and Shameka* made Dominque’s visit feel welcoming and relaxed. That welcoming environment made all the difference. “It felt like family instead of just doing business,” she says. Seeing her mom approved for a vehicle and regain independence was a moment Dominque won’t forget.

Since then, she’s recommended Car-Mart to other relatives, including two sisters and a cousin. “When someone treats you like family, you want the people you care about to have that same experience,” she smiles.

“At the end of the day, we’re here to help people,” Dishawn remarks. “If we can help a family get back on the road, that’s what matters most.”
